Lydia's Circle International Mission
The Lydia Circle of Monthalia chose, as one of its many missionary projects, Haven of Hope Nicaragua. Children in Nicaragua are “poor, “ “forgotten,” and “thrown away.” Many of these children are trafficked and stolen away from their families. Through “Haven of Hope” Nicaragua and a local physician/ missionary in our community, we learned that if these children wear school uniforms they are not being kidnapped and sold into slavery. Some of these children are of prostitutes. Now more and more mothers are becoming believers and out of prostitution; some of these mothers are in job training being evangelized. Pictured are children with their school uniforms. These children are less likely to be victims of trafficking if they are wearing a uniform. The offenders know that these children belong to someone and they will be looking for them. Each uniform costs $35 – a small price to pay to help protect them.
